Christmas, Portugal and Tests

Hi everyone!

In december I flew back home for christmas. I really missed the christmas feeling here in Almeria, because there is no snow and cold temperatures at al!

After I celebrated christmas, I flew back with two friends of mine. But we did not fly back to Almeria, but we flew to Madrid. We rent a car and drove to Porto for a 10 day road trip through Portugal. As always, we rent a car through www.billigermietwagen.de easy cheap and great cars! The trip through Portugal was amazing! We have seen a lot of beautiful cities and nature. I can really recommend doing a road trip like this, because it is not that far away from Spain and you can drive easily and relaxed because of the good highways.

After I came back to Almeria, I had to study for my first tests. The school system is so much of a difference compared to the dutch school system. All the exams are 30 questions multiple choice! So there is no space for your own creativity. On the other side it comes in handy with the Spanish exams, because open question exams are then a lot more difficult. But not only the tests are different. The timetable says that you have 3 hours for one test. But in reality you only have like 1 hour. The teacher almost always comes 30 minutes late, then you don't know in which classroom you have to write the test because there are mentioned 10 different rooms where you can sit down, the students are very noisy and do not behave themselves at al! Then if you are lucky enough to receive your test within 45 minutes of the start of te test, the teacher starts talking and explaining what exactly the purpose is. That is very annoying because the only thing you want to do is start with your test and finish it in time. So I can say that it is very chaotic and therefore not stimulating.

But an advantage of the multiple choice is, that teachers can correct the tests easily and fast. Sometimes we got our results within 24 hours and that is really great!

After I wrote my tests, it was time to go back to Holland. I am very lucky that I booked my flight somewhere in December, because some people had some difficulties to book a good and cheap flight back to their homeland. During off season, it is very difficult to get a good an cheap flight from Almeria to other destinations. You almost always have to go to Malaga first so you can fly from there. So I can really recommend to book your flight very early.

In the end the test weren't that difficult as I thought. My time in Almeria was really great and I have seen so much of Spain in these 5/6 months. I think I really going to miss the nice weather, but I am also ready for some cold dutch weather, because funny enough I missed that kind off weather too.
